Best Of Fashion Week. Highlights, Clothes & Models & Shows.

                                                FASHION WEEK HIGHLIGHTS.

There were many fantastic show 2012 collections for the spring summer season of next year 2013. Whilst the shows were about the clothing, some shows excelled themselves beyond any expectations. From the most opulent setting for the Vivienne Westwood collection, at the British Ambassador's residence in Paris, to the creative setting of the Louis Vuitton show, starting and finishing on escalators, high above the audience, and keeping on the subject of height, Rick Owens had the sky falling in, with what looked like clouds cascading down from the sky, as the backdrop to the show, then you could not be forgiven if you had forgotten the spectacle of the Chanel show, which incorporated windfarms and solar panels onto it's catwalk, runway. A Breath of Fresh Air.

Fantastic, creativity in the idea's of the fashion collection's show setting.

Although it is Autumn 2012 it is time for next years fashion shows throughout the world.
It is the Spring / Summer 2013 collection fashion weeks show.
The start of the best fashion week is upon us, it starts in America, with NewYork, then follows onto London after which it is off to mainland Europe, and Milan the Italian capital and from here it is on to France and yes you`ve guessed it Paris, the capital. After a short but deserved break we fly to Tokyo, for the last fashion week show which showcases the spring/summer clothes for the year 2013. There are many other fashion week show's although i think that the top shows are all the above mentioned one's. The Best.

NEW YORK FASHION WEEK.

Alexander Wang was one of the best fashion collections on show at New York Fashion Week 2012 for the s/s2013 womenswear collection. Alexander Wang's collection was to resemble cut out animal print, creating a striking design. Enough said just checked this collection out before it sells out.

Marc by Marc Jacobs had lots of fun with this collection for s/s2013, as the colours represented candy, sweet. The collection was very wearable and attractive. The sugary collection also had scarfs and head scarfs on some of the models which were nice and colourful, complimenting the outfits, which made the collection even more relaxed and fun if that was possible.

Jeremy Scott never is short of excitment at his shows, and you never know what to expect. This collection was inspired by Arab Spring and it brought to the catwalk/runway of New York Fashion Week the style of this theme. Drawing inspiration from the Middle East and creating veils and animal print with the element of fun rocking.

Yves Saint Laurent was way out west in the current collection for s/s2013 which was on show for NewYork Fashion Week. Wide brimmed hats, resemble cowboys or perhaps cowgirls. The rest of the collection held the theme together with floaty dresses or suits, all of which were very in keeping with the whole theme of the collection. Bang bang. Great Guns.

LONDON FASHION WEEK.

House of Holland by designer Henry Holland showed us a collection which had everything, from psychodelic coloured garments to more muted dresses, all very wearable, quite a relaxed informal collection for everyday wear, complete with wool beenie hat.

Vivienne Westwood Red Label was the label to be launching it's collection for the spring, summer 2013 season at London Fashion Week. The show collection was what we expect from the label, in an eclectic mix of fashion. Vivienne appeared at the end of the show wrapped up in a banner which read Climate Revolution.

Christopher Kane was inspired to be a mad scientist in this current collection on show for London Fashion Week. He incorporated  Frankenstein in some garments and used the theme to make sense of the entire collection, nuts and bolts.

MILAN FASHION WEEK.

Dsquared2, with Dean & Dan at the helm, made a rocking show happen with their new s/s2013 collection, which was on show for the Milan Fashion Week. On the catwalk/runway we saw Cara Delevingne and  Lindsey Wixson take the limelight. The clothes were very rock & roll, with leather and denim and also lots of embelishments and bling, as well as hats or caps.

Fendi presented a flawless collection which is also seamless, using a technique called Saldatura, electrical welding, for clothing. Creativity and ingenious technique's are the growing trend and this inventiveness is much admired and enlightens the way for the fashion fraternity.

Moschino is one the great Italian fashion houses. The moment the first face hit the runway/catwalk it was a unusual sight which blessed our eyes, though one of intregue. The models were mostly in black and white monochrome and wore helmets upon their heads, as if they were to be driving off on their lamberetta, vespa or other motorcycle. The clothes were fasinating in structure and the collection certainly got the attention it deserved.

Before the start of Paris fashion week it was obvious that by this time, Fashion Week having already been in New York, London, and Milan, the bar had been risen, and the stakes were high for the designers to deliver, and deliver they did.

PARIS FASHION WEEK.

Balmain was one of the best fashion shows at Paris Fashion Week, with a great mix of clothes available, some rather amazing, eyecatching garments. Graphic harlequin print garments, leather, and the major shoulder pad, and the not easily to be forgotten basket woven raffia dresses were all to grace the runway, catwalk for Balmain in Paris.

Gareth Pugh was to enter the world of fashion at Paris in a strange but sure form of wonderment. The designs were awe inspiring and this collection was surprize after surprize. So that is where my knitting needles went.

One of the most opulent settings of Paris Fashion Week, was the venue for the Vivienne Westwood fashion show collection. The venue was the British Ambassador's residence building, and with it's plush interior and chandeliers, it was a fitting place for Vivienne Westwood to show her most recent collection. The clothes from her collection resembled parlour maids to princesses who wore tiaras.

The Louis Vuitton show was a surprizing event, as the models descended from above on an escalator, which collided in colour with the colours of the recent fashion collection. The collection itself was bright and colourful, and some with check pattern, recognisable as L.V.

The Chanel show in Paris, was certainly a spectacle to behold as the catwalk/runway had large windfarm and solar panels installed on the walkway. Various models walked for the Chanel show, amongst them, who made a good impression were Lindsey Wixson and Yumi Lambert. The collection was well thought of and many different designs were available, from dresses to windfarm designed jumpers to over sized handled hand or possibly shoulder bag, a very nice collection, from the designer of Chanel, Karl Lagerfeld.

The most fun show, fashion collection during fashion week had to be Jean Paul Gaultier who's show was in Paris, because even if you do not follow fashion, you could play the guessing game with this collection, fun very much at the fore front. At Paris Fashion Week for s/s2013, Jean Paul Gaultier presented his show collection on the catwalk, runway. The fashion show had a distinct theme, 1980's Pop Artists, it was very well done and of course fun.

Some of the other designs, which i have seen at fashion weeks, from around the globe which have captured my eye, i have pictures below and have details of the designers who have created them. I hope you enjoy the fashion.

First on the left pictured below is from the Paris Fashion Week and was on display at the Elie Saab show collection, amazing colours and design, put this dress up there for me.
BCBG Max Azria had some interesting geometric designs incorporated in the clothes, and with a divide in fabrics, pictured 2nd from left.
The picture below on the right is from the Herve Leger show which included lines of symmetry in the collection.

Pictured below on the left is a picture from the Tommy Hilfiger Fashion Week show in New York, for the spring/summer 2013 collection, it is instantly recognizable with it's large wide bold stripes, and being a trouser suit is so apt. It works.

My favorite models which walked the runway, catwalk for Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2013 are pictured below, i mostly have chosen them for their ability to work the clothes, but also the attitude they create being alluring and interesting, these attributes are also taken on by the clothes the model is wearing.
If you recognise, or can name the model or models below please message me, so that i can update the information, some of the models pictured were the first face girls for the show collections.
The first picture below on the left, is of the model who opened the show at Paris for Chloe, she rocked the clothes. Sweet but with flavour.
The second from the left picture was taken at the Giambattista Valli show collection which was also at Paris for it's Spring/Summer 2013 Fashion Week. Pure white dress with a band of gold, made the model as the dress description is. Pure with a hint of gold, look.
The third on the right photograph was taken at the BCBG Max Azria show collection, which was being shown at New York Fashion Week. Fantastic style and combination of fabrics and material. Classic model rocking the look.

The first picture below on the left is taken from the Carolina Herrera show collection Spring/Summer 2013, the show was in New York, America, USA.The model looks white pure gold.
The second picture from the left, was taken from the Oscar de la Renta spring/summer 2013 show collection, which was also shown at New York. The model rocking the jive look, with excellent hair and make-up.
The 3rd picture from the left is of the Jason Wu spring/summer 2013 collection. First on the runway/catwalk for the Jason Wu show collection in New York was model Carolyn Murphy who made a great impression and set the pace for the much younger models, who have far less experience, she rocked.

The photographs below were taken at the Diane von Furstenberg spring/summer 2013 show collection, which was being shown at New York Fashion Week. The model in the 1st and 2nd picture you see with and without glasses. I see they could be the same person. Smilin on the catwalk, got cream.
The photograph on the below right was also taken at the same show as the previous two photos, Diane von Furstenberg spring/summer 2013 New York show collection. The model has a classic beauty about her.
Some of the models wore Google Glasses to film whilst on the catwalk/runway. voyeuristic.

The photo below on the left is from the Jason Wu show collection at New York for Spring / Summer 2013 Fashion Week. The model was the second face on the catwalk, and walked behind Carolyn Murphy, the model in the picture worked well, as it would of been some what intimidating to be following on behind a well known supermodel. You look super though.
The second photograph was taken at the Valentino show collection spring/summer 2013 at the Milan Fashion Week. The model has a certain aire and grace, suits the clothes nicely.
The last photograph was also taken at Milan Fashion Week for the Valentino show collection spring/summer 2013. This model also shows a certain grace about her, which transfers well in the showing of the clothes.

I have pictured below, left, a photograph of a model taken at Paris Fashion Week during the spring / summer 2013 show collection for Pascal Millet. The model is classic natural.
The next picture, second from left, was also taken at Paris Fashion Week during the s/s 2013 show collection for Pascal Millet. The model is another classic natural, a relaxed informal feel.
The picture below on the right, was also taken at Paris Fashion Week for the show collection of Junko Shimada, and the spring / summer of 2013. The model has a demure look.

The picture which is below, left, is taken from the Azzaro Paris S/S2013 Fashion Show, the model is wearing a clear jacket and is well composed.
